DIRECTING WORKSHOP

Introduction

Our comprehensive two-day workshop explores visual storytelling with dynamic camera movement and skillful actor blocking.

Through extensive hands-on participation, students will learn to visualize the scene, work with actors, strategize with storyboards, and evoke the essence of the script: DRAMA!

Philosophy

Great directing involves the ability to visualize and break down a script. Students will learn to do so through hands-on exercises, including practicing optimum camera positions, camera movement, and lens choices in relation to the blocking of the actors.

From this process, participants will understand how to convey tone, mood and style; and give the film a distinct look that belongs to the director's unique vision.
